Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, better known as Ari Lennox, is an American musician and singer from Washington, D.C., who was the first woman to be signed to J. Cole's Dreamville Records record label. On October 21, 2016, she released Pho, her debut EP for the label Dreamville Records. This was when she began to gain recognition. The album that she released as her debut studio album Shea Butter Baby was released on May 7 2019. Ari Lennox began uploading her music onto the internet in 2012 as she released her debut mixtape Five Finger Discount and debut EP Ariography In 2013. In 2014 Ari Lennox released her own single Bound, as well as her mixtape, which she released herself, Five Finger Discount. On July 21st, 2015, Omen was featured on Elephant Eyes the track"Sweat it Out.. J. Cole, who was part of the Dreamville crew at that time and wanted her to work on Rihanna and Rihanna-related songs. She officially was signed to Dreamville Records on 8 December. The singer appeared on the collaborative album Revenge of the Dreamers II featuring the track Backseat Cozz. On October 21, 2016 her Pho EP was released. Ari Lennox performed the song Change by J. Cole as well as opening the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017, in which she supported by EarthGang. She also appeared as a guest on two songs, with the EarthGang's Nothing but the Best song as well as Bas's Icarus. Ari Lennox dropped her first song Whipped Cream off of Shea Butter Baby on July 16th. A music video followed followed by a video in September. On the 9th of November she dropped two more singles, the 40 Shades of Choke as well as Grampa. Then on November 13 two new singles titled The No One and Pedigree. Then she appeared as a guest on the Creed II soundtrack with Cole on a track titled Shea Butter Baby on November 16, and it was released as a single on February 26 2019 to accompany her debut album with the same name. A music video debuted on February 20, 2019 to go along with the track. Within one period of a week, the video had more than 3,000,000 views. The singer was a part of 6LACK's From East Atlanta With Love Tour at the end of December the year 2018.
